When There Are No Words

WHEN THERE ARE NO WORDS

The innocent trust

of A child’s heart.

To hear a mournful cry

Where pride  refuses the world to see

Being treasured Unconditionally.

A  stroke upon  a  troubled brow

Softly whispered “I love you s.”

When there are no words

to describe such thoughts,

with  these I am moved to tears.

Bible verse for the day:

Ephesians 3;14 -19

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of His glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith  –  That you being rooted and grounded in love, ay have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:14 -19

A Gift from the Psalmist Heart

We are all on a journey. whether or not we realize or acknowledge it, we are a “work in progress. As each day goes by, I am thankful for the lessons I am learning in my new “job” . I am also uncovering and dusting off old passions that I thought were no longer needed or deteriorated beyond my recognition.

Poetry can definitely become a conduit for realizing and expressing  thought and emotion! The first  lines of  this graceful literature I remember reading was the Book of Psalms, written by David, the young shepherd who eventually became one of the world’s greatest kings in history. I am always astounded at how his words, intended as lyrics , often begin as petitions , end in revel elation and/or joy!  Personally, I have endured many trials , kidney and lung issues included, and without the “truth” of God’s heart being spoken through the the words and phrases of  human expression, darkness could have  overwhelmed me. The Psalms are often as the light of a torch or pillar of fire to guide us through the uncharted and uncertain.

Words are gifts from the heart.  God’s Word, are love letters from our Creator’s heart and were written to preserve His story , express His gracious love and enlighten our spirits!  Let us remember that  today and every day , we too can and  are being used as “vessels of encouragement and inspiration!

Jean Paul QuoteT. S. Eliot Quote

Psalm 4

Answer Me When I Call

To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.

Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness!

You have given me relief when I was in distress.

Be gracious to me and hear my prayer!

2 O men, how long shall my honor be turned into shame?

How long will you love vain words and seek after  lies? Selah

3 But know that the Lord has  set apart  the godly for himself;   the Lord hears when I call to him.

4 Be angry, and do not sin;  ponder in your own hearts  on your beds, and be silent. Selah

5 Offer  right sacrifices, and put your  trust in the Lord.

6 There are many who say, “Who will show us some good?     Lift up  the light of your face upon us, O Lord!”

7 You have put  more joy in my heart  than they have when their grain and wine abound.

8 In peace I will both  lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me  dwell in safety.

Good For My Heart

There is something to be said about having heart and this morning my husband and I are off to a good start. We have been on our marital journey for two months short of 7 years and our friendship over twice that long and never have our hearts been healthier.  Readers, were you aware that our hearts can not only be encouraged  but physically brought back to life by touch?  We have heard of a surgeon massaging a heart back to life, directly hand to muscle, but having a doctorate is not required to strengthen the hearts of our family and friends.

About 15 minutes ago, as per our A.M ritual, my hubby called me via cellphone to let me know he was safely at work. You see, he commutes. Need I say more. Approximately, 45 minutes down  the I5 freeway into the heart of the big city.  There, my hero battles for our daily bread, amidst computers, calls and coworkers. So,the potential cacophony of activity can often disturb his senses and mood, thus affecting him physically! Our solution!? Long hugs and passionate kisses, as he steps through the door in the A.M, as well as the P.M!  The result?  Well, not only was his blood pressure down by ten points at his last Red Cross palette donation, but I am rewarded with hearing his voice on the other end of the cellular “line”  say ” You are good for My Heart.” And this is very, very good therapy for mine.

By the way, ladies and gents, if you are interested in creating a heart healthy breakfast for your spouse and kids, may I share our special version of oatmeal with you ? Warm on the tummy and a tasty tropical memory to start your busy day!

Warm Mango Oatmeal

3 cups of water

1 cup of  oatmeal (our favorite is Bob’s Red Mill steel cut oats)

1/2 cup to whole cup of  slightly warmed coconut milk (When I discovered this a our t local grocery store, I was SO  EXCITED)

fresh Mango (cut, diced) (okay, who are we kidding mango is messy !)

and a sprinkling of brown sugar to taste

Heat the water to a boil.

Add oatmeal and stir for 10 to 20 min (depending on whether you prefer al dente or soft )

I then drain the water off

Place the mango in the bottom of  bowl and pour oatmeal over the top. Yum! This warms the mango up

and pour warm coconut milk over the top with the brown sugar

and as you stir you can smell the fruity island breezes! Enjoy and Aloha!
